Janie Hasty Small, age 90, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Geneva and Willie Joe Hasty, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Levie Chapman Small and her brother, Willie Joe Hasty, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Faye S. Lail of Roanoke Rapids; her sister-in-law, Sue Hasty of Roanoke Rapids; her nephew, Dennis Hasty and his wife, Barbara of Conway; her niece, Dianne Davis and her husband, Francis of Columbia, SC; and her great-nephew, Josh Hasty and his wife, Brandi of Greenville.

Janie was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School, class of 1943. She was also a lifelong member of Rosemary Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Bob Redmond. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
